Why Are Bags So Gorgeous Nowadays?

I think my new hobby is to browse on photos of handbags. Ah....why are they so gorgeous? At first it was the Balenciaga City and now the Louis Vuitton Capucine (especially the BB). The colours are to drool for and the small size is to die for. The ones I like came with straps. Argghh.....Why are they so freaking expensive?

Mom's Time Out

I was watching Mom's Time Out on Lifetime when one of the fathers said "as the head of the family you are not there just to put food on the table, roof over their heads BUT to get involve with your children's adventure and journey in life".

Nowadays people spend less and less time with their families because of work and by 'work' I mean money. You can work 24 hours a day and this has been made possible since the invention of smartphones and tabs. You can do work at home, during lunch or dinner and while window shopping. You give your children the gadgets and they will stare at the beaming screen, most of the time very quietly and you can do your work using your own gadget without having to spend time with them and listening to their stories. WHY? Because you need money. More and more money. Work = money. More money = more gadgets.

Other than for work purposes people use gadgets for fun. To chat, to browse the net and to play games. It comes to a point that you are too indulge in your smartphones that you tend to forget that there is more to life than gadgets. You start forgetting about your children and your wife. You are more willing to spend hours chatting with friends while your children are left on their own watching tv or do homeworks. And your wife will be sitting just at the corner very quietly watching the children watch tv having no one to have a conversation with. What's with the "we shall grow old together"? There is NOTHING wrong to chat with friends because everyone understands that you need your own time too or shall I say "me time". You need your friends to broaden your mind with intelligent conversations that you might not get from your family. You need friends to talk about business and also work. You need friends to reminiscing the good old days. The point is did it ever occur to you that you might be OVER doing it and thus neglecting your family? And chatting with the opposite sex colleagues at 10, 11 p.m. when you already spend the day during office hour? Have you ever thought that that person has children and family too? If they haven't do you think it's right to chat at night when you are already married? Don't you pity your wife when she pitied you all tired and exhausted coming home from your busy work schedules and traffic jams all the way? There is NOTHING wrong if some important work thing comes up and needs urgent attention she understands. She is not ungrateful.

Because of my stupidity I do not know. I ALWAYS thought work ends before or by 9 p.m. when me time or family time starts. And of course kids being kids have so much energy and so much things to share with their parents especially the one they do not see during the day. Yes, we are busy. We live in a busy world. We need to work otherwise we cannot pay bills, buy food and buy house. It is especially hard when you are the only bread winner. I saw a family having lunch at a restaurant where they did not talk to each other because the parents had their eyes glued on gadgets as well as the children, one each. I don't know. I was wrong. Probably I need to blend in with the gadgets phenomenon. I need to always have my hands and eyes on my phone so I can understand. The only problem is my eyes will sore and my head aches.
